Dr. Jasmine Malcolm
General Surgeon

Dr. Malcolm brings over 15 years of general surgery experience to the practice. She grew up on the island of St. Vincent, a former British colony and graduated Summa cum laude in Biology at Medgar Evers College, Brooklyn , New York 1994.   From there she obtained her medical degree from University of Minnesota, Minneapolis in 1998 and completed her surgical training at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, DC 2003.  She practiced in St. Vincent after graduating from Georgetown and returned to the USA for a trauma fellowship at Inova Fairfax, Virginia. Since then she has been practicing bread and butter general surgery. She has admitting privileges at Frederick Memorial Hospital where she can care for in-patients.

 

In her youth Dr. Malcolm spent 15 years in the Girl Guide/ Scout movement from Brownie to troop leader and obtained  the Queen’s Guide award which is equivalent to an Eagle Scout award. She believes Scouting builds friendships and promotes team work essential attributes for any career path.

 

In her spare time she loves reading mystery novels, going to the movies, traveling, music and photography.
